Pee Be Gone!

Whether you have a child going through potty training or a new puppy, you’ll be dealing with pee. My puppy sleeps with me all the time & he has pee’d on the bed a couple times. Pee stains are gross & make your mattress look bad. With these 3 common household items you can make those stains disappear!

  • Dawn Dish Soap
  • 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Baking Soda
  • Spray Bottle

I got all of these items at the dollar store, no need to spend more than that!

The mixture should include:

  1. 3 teaspoons of baking soda
  2. 8oz of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
  3. ONE drop of Dawn Dish Soap

Once you have poured it all into the spray bottle gently swirl the mixture, DO NOT SHAKE. Use within 20 minutes of making the mixture.

Spray the affected area & allow 5-10minutes to pass. You should see the stain lifted from your mattress. Here is a before & after photo of when I did it this morning!

Handy Woman

As I’ve posted before my puppy Jeter has done some damage to our apartment by chewing through some trimming. Apartments will charge hundreds of dollars to fix these types of things so I decided to fix it myself. I went to Home Depot & got the following supplies:

  • Wood Filler
  • Small Paint Brush
  • 120 Sandpaper (150 would also work)
  • Putty Knife
  • Paint

To match up the paint I went to Home Depot & picked out a variety of different color swatches that I thought would match the color of the trimming & I was able to match it up perfectly.

This was my first time working with wood filler or doing any project like this. Here are some before & afters. It’s not perfect, but it will do & was way cheaper fixing it myself than paying hundreds of dollars to the apartments!

The Doggy Struggle

Puppies chew on anything & everything they can get their mouths on…. Jeter has bit through trimming & carpet in the month that I have had him. I’m constantly taking things away from him or pulling things out of his mouth. This morning as I was getting ready for work, Jeter decides it would be a fantastic idea to eat ear plugs! He had the pair in his mouth & I was able to get only ONE out! Naturally I’m freaking out & I don’t know whether I should try to make him throw up or leave him & let it pass. I immediately call his vet & of course they want me to take him in. As I’m getting dressed & gathering our things I’m going crazy trying to find someone to cover my shift at work (of course everyone wants your shift until you actually need to give it away…). Anyways, I get to the vet & Jeter is acting crazy, which is normal for him, so I feel a little bit better. When we finally get seen the vet tells me he wants to make him throw it up by applying eye drops in his eye that would make him sick. So I agree to that approach & poor Jeter is screaming his head off, squirming & not letting the vet instill the eye drops. I guess I had a horrible look on my face because the vet stopped what he was doing, looked up at me & asked, “do you want to step outside while we do this or are you ok?” I just don’t like hearing my baby scream, but I didn’t want to leave him. Finally the drops get in his eye & my baby starts puking over & over & over… BAM! out comes the ear plug! I never thought I would be so happy to see Jeter throwing up. If he hadn’t thrown it up or pooped it out the vet said Jeter would need surgery to get it removed! Needless to say Jeter & I had an eventful morning! Glad my little baby is ok!

College Life

Spring 2016 was my first semester at C.T Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. I have always worked while taking college courses, but this semester was the most challenging. I was at a new school, new people, and my classes were more difficult. My schedule this past semester was crazy packed with school during the week and working every weekend. I was always tired and studied as much as I could. I didn’t work as much as I normally do in order to keep up with my classes, but I still worked quite a bit. I don’t live with my parents so I need to work a good amount of hours in order to provide for myself. There were plenty of times I wanted to give up this semester, but I didn’t. I was very happy with 3 of my final grades, they were A’s; and extremely disappointed with 1 of my grades. I received a  D+ in Statistical Analysis for Business Applications. I have never in my life gotten a D in a class. For those of you who don’t know a D is passing at UH for every major except Supply Chain, all I have to say is thank goodness I didn’t pick Supply Chain as my major. Although I didn’t get the 4.0 GPA I had tried to work so hard for this semester this just makes me want to work that much harder for my future semesters. For everyone that works fulltime/part-time and going to school fulltime, keep going and never stop. You will reach your goals, all the sweat and hard work you put in will be worth it when you finally receive your degree, get that job you want, buy that house that is to die for, or the car you’ve wanted for years. Don’t let anything get in your way and don’t ever doubt your ability to succeed.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
